Sebastian Rees

Senior Researcher

I grew up in Sydney, Australia and moved to the UK to complete my Undergraduate degree in History and Politics and Graduate degree in Global History at the University of Oxford. Before joining Reform, I worked as a foreign affairs journalist for Al Bawaba News, where I focused on armed conflicts,  protest movements and technological change in the Middle East. I have also worked as a policy researcher, museum guide and debating coach. I have a strong interest in education, employment, and security policy and am especially keen on injecting perspectives from abroad into public policy debate in Britain.

My favourite Reformer is…

Gough Whitlam, Australia’s Prime Minister, 1972-5
