Spring Budget: the good, the bad, and the what next?

In an era of global crises, the future of the UK’s economy is uncertain, making economic forecasting extremely difficult. While inflation has dropped significantly, taxes remain at a record-high despite the recent NI cut and public services are under huge pressure.

In an election year, the Chancellor will likely use his final Budget to attempt to further alleviate the cost of living crisis and demonstrate to a pessimistic public that things can improve.

Reform is delighted to welcome Dame Meg Hillier MP, Chair, Public Accounts Committee, Richard Hughes, Chair, Office for Budget Responsibility and Pippa Crerar, Political Editor, The Guardian, to share their reflections on the implications of the Budget, and how it might shape the political and economic landscape in the lead-up to the General Election.
