Cancer Care: A Looming Crisis?

Thursday 18th June 2020, 10:30
- 11:30

For months, practitioners have been sounding the alarm of slowing cancer care during the COVID-19 crisis. Screening has been completely halted, non-emergency procedures are delayed, and clinical trials have been indefinitely postponed. Important steps have been taken, including the creation of COVID-free hubs and alternative treatment pathways.

However more can, and should, be urgently done to address cancer care to avoid an upcoming crisis.  From the use of data more effectively targeting treatment and keeping cancer wards COVID-free, to remote diagnostics and fast-tracking the introduction of new medicines.

This event will focus on providing practical solutions to the looming cancer care crisis in healthcare.

Confirmed panellists:

  • Steve Brine MP, former Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Public Health and Primary Care
