Coinciding with the launch of the BBC’s Audience Value report, Tim Davie, BBC Director-General, will be in conversation with Rt Hon Baroness Nicky Morgan, former Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, for a discussion on the value the BBC provides to audiences and the action it is taking to become a smarter saver, seller and spender.
The BBC has been under significant budgetary pressure over the past decade and has had to make sizeable savings. This has meant a focus on value for money: identifying opportunities to drive efficiency and raise revenues, while simultaneously ensuring the delivery of high-quality output that audience’s value. The challenge of achieving this balance of objectives – and during an era of extreme scrutiny – is substantial, and one that many public sector institutions are grappling with.
Reform is delighted to be hosting this event with the BBC.
