Societies around the world are evolving fast. Populations are ageing, jobs are being automated and politics is said to have entered a ‘post truth’ era. But what does this mean for governments? How can public bodies, often designed in an analogue era, respond to such significant shifts in the world around them?

Reform was delighted to convene this roundtable with the Rt Hon Liz Truss MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury This event explored how the UK government is adapting to changes in technology, the economy and citizen attitudes – and ultimately what the government of the future will look like, following on from the publication of Reform and Deloitte’s report, State of the State. This event brought together around 20 of the most senior-level representatives from across government and public services
