Putting patients first: how Integrated Care Systems can drive better outcomes

The Government’s Health and Care White Paper commits to putting Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) on a statutory footing throughout England. Placing greater control over local healthcare systems in the hands of ICSs has the chance to make a real difference to patient-centred care, reducing bureaucracy and giving local leaders more discretion to shape and deliver services which meet the needs of their communities.

However, to truly drive improved patient outcomes, it will be crucial to get the shape and structure of ICSs right. Important questions remain to be answered on how NHS organisations can work most effectively with their partners in local government, the VCSE and independent sectors and in social care within new structures and under new procurement rules.

Reform is delighted to be hosting a roundtable, bringing together NHS leaders, policymakers, frontline practitioners and representatives from the VCSE and independent sectors to discuss the progress made in integrating care and identify future challenges and opportunities for driving the system level change needed to deliver better patient outcomes.

The roundtable will be held under Chatham House Rule. This event is kindly supported by Social Enterprise UK.
