Proactive, predictive and personalised: accelerating the prevention revolution

The NHS is under unprecedented pressures: waiting lists are at record levels, access is declining, and outcomes are deteriorating. Whilst supporting the NHS is vital to putting care back on track after the pandemic, getting on top of these worrying indicators means moving away from a reactive approach and towards a preventative model focused on reducing demand on healthcare services in the long term.

Government and the NHS have set out ambitious plans in this area. The Long Term Plan pledges to put prevention at the heart of healthcare, with a particular focus on early detection, targeted screening, and secondary prevention. The 2019 Prevention Green Paper points to the power of data to make prevention more predictive, and the potential of new technologies such as whole genome sequencing and personalised medicine to identify and address health challenges early.  However, although progress has been made, significant scope exists to go further.

Reform is delighted to host the panel event with Steve Brine MP, Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee; Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt, Chair of Norfolk and Waveney ICP; and Rebecca Catterick, General Manaker UK & Ireland, Sanofi to explore the next steps government should take to drive a prevention revolution.

This event is kindly sponsored by Sanofi.

Please note there will also be an opportunity to network over tea and coffee after the event.
