With the number of cancer diagnoses expected to reach over 300,000 a year by 2020, the Government’s 2016 cancer strategy set out an ambitious aim to improve the outcomes that the NHS delivers. Redesigning care pathways will be key to this, drawing on the experience of the Cancer Vanguard. Underpinning the success of care pathway redesign will be the effective use of high-quality data, as recent Reform research has highlighted.
Reform was delighted to host a high-level roundtable with Cally Palmer CBE, Chief Executive of The Royal Marsden Hospital and National Cancer Director, NHS England, on a data-driven approach to personalised cancer care. This roundtable was held under the Chatham House Rule.
