High quality, fairly funded: the future of adult social care

Reform is delighted to be hosting an event at Conservative Party Conference in partnership with Newton Europe on the future of adult social care.

In 2021, the Conservative Government announced a series of major reforms to the way in which adult social care is to be funded and delivered. In September, the Government set out funding reforms in its Plan for Health and Social Care, and in November, the White Paper, People at the Heart of Care, set out a roadmap for reforming the model of social care delivery.

After decades in which successive governments have placed social care reform in the ‘too difficult’ box, this Government’s willingness to take action is extremely welcome. From providing a clear funding model for individuals and building a healthier market, to improving the working conditions of social care workers and offering more personalised support to users, the ambitions laid out in the two White Papers are encouraging.

This Conservative Party conference event will explore the next steps necessary to achieve the government’s vision of a sustainable care system that delivers world class support for those who draw on it.

Location: Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre, Central Square, Holliday St, Birmingham B1 1HH

Please note this is an in-person event held outside the Secure Zone.

We very much hope you will join us.
