Reform held a roundtable at the Conservative Party conference on the theme 'The future of supported housing: finding a fair and affordable solution' led by Marcus Jones MP, Minister for Local Government.
More than 700,000 people in the UK benefit from the supported housing sector including older people, those with learning and physical disabilities, individuals at risk of homelessness, refuges for those suffering from domestic abuse, and many others. The benefits of supported housing also impact many other public services, for example, lessening the burden on the NHS, prisons and social care.
The Government’s clear objective is to find a funding solution for supported housing that is long-term and sustainable while also ensuring quality, value for money and boosting the supply of supported housing. This event seeks to explore how achieving best value for money and delivering quality can be achieved through a vibrant supply market, incentivising investment and finding a funding solution that can work for all.
This event was held under the Chatham House Rule and was held in partnership with Home Group:
