Better integration of care services is at the heart of the NHS Long-Term Plan. Sustainability Transformation Partnerships, Integrated Care Systems and New Care Models are set to lay the foundations for a 21st century NHS, where different health organisations are supported to work together to deliver high-quality care services and improve the health outcomes of their local communities. Many organisations have made significant progress establishing joint working governance arrangements and integrating the planning and resourcing of services. The NHS’ proposal of a ‘best value test’ is set to further improve service integration however, important questions remain regarding how this new test will be implemented.
Reform was delighted to host this roundtable, led by Ian Dodge, National Director of Strategy, NHS England and NHS Improvement, which discussed the steps the NHS must take to accelerate progress towards integrating care.
The roundtable was held under the Chatham House Rule.
This event was supported by Social Enterprise UK.
