Building economic prosperity for all: supporting UK businesses

Reform was delighted to convene a private policy roundtable on ‘Building economic prosperity for all: supporting UK businesses’ with Peter Dowd MP, Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury. The event took place on Wednesday 1 November at 08.45 for 09.00 – 10.15.

In the wake of Brexit, putting in place robust policies to support UK businesses and ensure they can grow and prosper is a key policy objective. This will not only help the economy, but will also improve the quality of life for citizens. The Government’s approach is based on a new industrial strategy and pursuing a tight fiscal strategy. In Peter Dowd’s response to the Budget debate, he strongly criticised this approach, and called for new thinking.

This event explored how the government can work to support businesses across the UK to ensure greater economic prosperity for all.
