Panellists:
Reform is delighted to be hosting a panel event at Labour Party Conference in partnership with University of Leicester.
Addressing health inequalities is one of the most pressing challenges for an English health system facing multiple and complex issues. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, stark disparities persist in health outcomes for different groups in our society. Health inequalities are rooted not only in healthcare performance, but in a wider socio-economic landscape that sets the conditions for good public health.
There is urgent need for a clear and comprehensive plan of action. The promised health disparities White Paper was shelved in January, paving the way for a major policy debate on this issue at the next general election.
Reform is delighted to hold this panel with Debbie Abrahams MP, Chair, APPG for Health in all Policies, Rachel Sylvester, Chair, The Times Health Commission, Dr Ruw Abeyratne, Director of Health Equality & Inclusion, University Hospitals of Leicester, and Professor Manish Pareek, Clinical Professor in Infectious Diseases.
