An AI-enabled public sector workforce

The productivity boosting potential of AI has long been championed – from task automation to smart workforce deployment to enabling real-time data-driven decision-making. With the public finances under pressure, the smart deployment of AI can help government achieve more for less.

But beyond this, AI also has the potential to improve the experience of public sector workers, helping with recruitment and retention and workplace satisfaction. This includes improving workplace safety; providing personalised learning; removing time-consuming but low value tasks to make jobs more enjoyable; enabling flexibility; and boosting collaboration and engagement.

Reform is delighted to welcome Fiona Ryland, Government Chief People Officer, UK Civil Service, to explore how the public sector can use AI to address current workforce challenges, both through boosting productivity and by empowering and engaging staff.

This roundtable will be held under the Chatham House rule and is kindly sponsored by Workday.
