The Government has announced its intentions for the UK to be a world leader in research and innovation, to maintain its position as a global destination for Higher Education and to be a forerunner in Artificial Intelligence. Investment in advanced computing infrastructure is at the heart of cutting-edge research and key to achieving all of these ambitions. It is important to highlight the economic advantage of scientific developments for the UK and the potential risks of under investment in these areas, as well as understanding the opportunities that the government, universities and the public sector have to utilise investment in advanced technologies for research and innovation.
Reform was delighted to host this roundtable, led by Chris Skidmore MP, Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation, to discuss the opportunities for advanced technology in the UK.
This roundtable was held under the Chatham House Rule.
This event was sponsored by Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
