The public finances are under acute pressure. Rising demand - coupled with rising inflation - means departmental envelopes are being squeezed. However, while difficult decisions lay ahead, there is an opportunity to drive increased value by doing things differently. This new era of efficiency must be characterised by bold reform, underpinned by the smart use of data and technology. Wasteful practices must be eliminated or redesigned, and every pound spent must be linked to driving better outcomes for citizens.
Reform are delighted to welcome Rt Hon John Glen MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, to lead this roundtable and share his ideas for how to drive public sector efficiency and effectiveness.
This private roundtable is kindly supported by Fujitsu and will be held under the Chatham House rule.
